Bring it in and we’ll tell you what’s actually wrong with it.
We repair laptops, desktops, all-in-ones and Macs — for households, students and businesses across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. The work is done on our own bench in Donvale by our own technicians, so there’s no courier, no third party, and no three-week wait while your machine sits in someone else’s queue.
What we repair
- Won’t turn on — power faults, failed power supplies, dead batteries, charging ports
- Won’t boot — failed drives, corrupted Windows or macOS, boot loops, blue screens
- Screens — cracked panels, dim or flickering displays, dead backlights, hinge damage
- Overheating and noise — blocked fans, failed cooling, thermal paste, shutdowns under load
- Keyboards and trackpads — dead keys, liquid damage, unresponsive trackpads
- Slow performance — the most common complaint we hear, and usually the cheapest to fix
- Ports and connectors — USB, HDMI, audio jacks, charging sockets
- Liquid damage — bring it in switched off and don’t try to charge it
If the fault isn’t on this list, ring us. Thirty years in, there isn’t much we haven’t opened up.
Maintenance that actually extends the life of a machine
Most computers that get replaced didn’t need replacing. A service typically buys years:
- Physical clean-out of dust from fans, vents and heatsinks
- Fresh thermal paste where temperatures warrant it
- Drive health check and SMART diagnostics before a failure, not after
- Windows or macOS updates, driver updates and start-up clean-up
- Security software check and backup verification
- A written note of anything starting to look tired, so you can plan for it
Windows and Mac, laptops and desktops
We work on all the major brands — Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, ASUS, Toshiba, Microsoft Surface and Apple — plus the custom desktops we build ourselves. If you bought it from us, we know exactly what’s in it.
What it costs
You get a fixed quote before any work begins, and nothing goes ahead without your say-so. If the repair isn’t worth the money against the age and value of the machine, we’ll say so plainly and talk you through what a replacement would cost instead.
Frequently asked
Do I need an appointment?
No. Drop in any weekday between 9:00am and 5:00pm.
How long will it take?
Most machines are diagnosed the same day. The repair itself depends on the fault and on whether parts need ordering — we’ll give you a realistic timeframe with the quote.
Will I lose my files?
Not if we can help it. We check for data before we do anything, and if the drive is failing we’ll talk to you about recovery first. See our data recovery page.
Is it worth repairing an old laptop?
Sometimes yes, often no. That’s exactly the conversation we’d rather have with you before you spend anything.
