Microsoft 365 is straightforward to sign up for and surprisingly easy to get wrong. Mailboxes migrated badly lose history. Files dumped into SharePoint without a structure become impossible to search. Licences bought without thought cost more every month, forever.
We plan it, migrate it, and configure it so it works the way your business actually works.
What we do
Migration. Moving from POP or IMAP email, an on-premise Exchange server, Google Workspace, or an older 365 tenancy. Mail, contacts, calendars and folder structures move across, with the changeover planned so nobody loses a day.
Licensing. There are a lot of plans, and the differences matter. We work out which licences your staff actually need — different people often need different ones — so you’re not paying for features nobody opens.
Exchange email. Mailboxes, shared mailboxes, distribution groups, aliases and mobile access. Plus the mail security settings — SPF, DKIM and DMARC — that stop your domain being used to send scams in your name.
SharePoint and OneDrive. A file structure with permissions that make sense, so the right people can reach the right things and your files aren’t scattered across fifteen personal drives.
Teams. Set up with a structure that suits how your business communicates, rather than sprawling into a hundred abandoned channels.
Security. Multi-factor authentication across the organisation, conditional access, and the admin settings that Microsoft doesn’t enable by default.
The backup question nobody asks
Microsoft keeps your data available. That is not the same as backing it up.
If a staff member deletes a folder, an account is compromised, or ransomware encrypts files that sync to the cloud, Microsoft’s retention windows are limited and unforgiving. Once they pass, the data is gone.
We set up independent backup of Microsoft 365 — mail, files and Teams content — held separately, with a retention period that suits your obligations. It’s a small monthly cost against a category of loss that ends businesses.
Ongoing support
Once it’s running, we look after it: adding and removing staff, resetting access, adjusting licences as you grow or shrink, and handling the changes Microsoft makes without warning.
Frequently asked
Will we lose email during the migration?
No. Migrations are planned so mail keeps flowing and the changeover happens with minimal disruption. We’ll agree the timing with you in advance.
Do we need Business Basic, Standard or Premium?
It depends on whether staff need desktop Office applications and what security features you need. Often the answer is a mix. That’s part of the conversation.
Isn't our data already backed up by Microsoft?
No. This is the single most common and most expensive misunderstanding in small business IT.
