Web design for small business

Most small business websites fail for the same three reasons: they’re slow, they’re awkward on a phone, and nobody can update them without ringing someone.

We build sites that avoid all three. And because we already handle hosting, email, domains and security, the site sits alongside the rest of your IT instead of being a separate thing managed by someone you can’t reach.

What we build

Business websites. Clear, well-organised sites that explain what you do and make it easy to get in touch.

Local service sites. Built to be found by people searching in your suburb, with your service areas, hours and contact details structured so search engines read them correctly.

Refreshes and rebuilds. If you have a site that’s dated, slow or awkward on mobile, a rebuild is often faster and cheaper than repeatedly patching it.

What's included as standard

  • Mobile first. Most visitors arrive on a phone. The site is designed for that screen first, not squeezed down afterwards.
  • Speed. Compressed images, clean code and proper hosting. Slow sites lose visitors before they read anything.
  • Findable. Page titles, descriptions, heading structure and local business details set up properly from day one.
  • Easy to update. You’ll be able to change your own text, hours, prices and photos. We’ll show you how, and we’re on the phone if you’d rather we did it.
  • Secure. HTTPS, current software and updates applied — the same standards we apply to everything else we look after.
  • Contact that works. Forms that arrive reliably in your inbox, and a phone number that dials with one tap on a mobile.

Hosting and looking after it

We host and maintain the sites we build, on the same servers we use for our business clients. That means updates applied, backups running, security monitored, and one number to ring when something needs changing — the same number you already use for everything else.

If you’d rather host elsewhere, that’s fine too.

How it works

1. We talk. What the business does, who you’re trying to reach, and what you want the site to achieve. Usually half an hour.

2. Structure and content. We agree what pages are needed and what goes on them. We can work from your existing material or help write it.

3. Design and build. You see it before it goes live, and we make changes.

4. Launch. Domain, hosting, email and search engine setup handled. Nothing goes live until you’ve approved it.

5. Afterwards. Hosting, maintenance and changes as your business changes.

It depends on how many pages and what needs to happen on them. Ring us, describe the business, and we’ll give you a realistic figure.

Most small business sites take a few weeks, and the usual hold-up is content — photos and text — rather than the build.

Often, yes. Send us the address and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s worth improving or rebuilding.

Yes — domains, hosting and Microsoft 365 email are all things we already look after.
